  • Help! ASAP!

    I'm about to order take-out, and I don't know what to do!

    If I get something from a pizzeria...

    Wings- dont know sauce or if its breaded.
    Cheesesteak Triple Cheese
    Cheddar Cheese, Provolone, Mozzarella Cheese, Mayo & Ketchup - no ketchup no bread.

    Calzone or Stromboli with meat and cheese- just dig it out of the bread?

    Chicken King:

    Buff wings with butter or hot sauce- I would assume butter?


    Chinese:
    Special Diet Menu

    S2. Gourmet Garden
    Jumbo shrimp, chicken & beef slices, with snow peas, mushrooms, broccoli, water chestnuts & baby corn- minus the corn

    or steamed chicken/shrimp with veggie. (why cant they have pork!?)

    Sounds like the steamed chicken and veggies is the best bet. I think the other Chinese dish you mentioned comes with sauce, and you don't necessarily know what's in that.

    Or maybe the sandwich minus condiments and bread. I'd avoid the wings for the same reason as above: you don't know how they prepared them or what's in the sauce.

        For the future, ask the folks at the Chinese restaurant if they have a special menu/choices for Atkineers. I was shocked to walk into one not far from my home and see a section especially for Atkins dieters! The food isn't cooked in the sugary sauces and further, they don't give you any rice or other high carb foods. The low carb lifestyle has become more and more popular that you would be surprised at how many restaurants cater to us. Even Burger King offers low carb options now! Finally, when in doubt, you can always opt for a nice salad. Good luck to you!
