I see people refer to their weight (at least, I think that's what they are referring to) by saying "14 stone 3" (for example)? What the heck does that mean, please??

Ok, a stone is a british weight measurement.
1 stone = 14 lbs.
I am sure it will only be the British that you have seen type like that.

I prefer using stones than lbs but I've kinda got used to saying lbs on the board now.

Did Atkins on and off from Feb 2005 until April 2008. Fluctuated between 15 st 1/211lbs and 11 st 1/155lbs.
On different weightloss programme from 28th May 2008 start weight 14 st 11/207lbs.
Current weight 10st 3lbs/143lbs.
Ultimate Goal Weight 9 st/126lbs.Comment

HEY!! I'm only 14 stone 11. I like this game. I think I'll use stones for how much I weigh currently and lbs for how much I've lost.

If I say to someone in the UK....Ive lost 14lbs, it doesnt sound much. But if I say....I've lost a stone....it sounds like alot!!

if I told someone in the states, I've lost a stone, I bet they'd ask if I lost my marbles too! (sorry couldn't resist!

to say what I weight I like stones - 26 stones sounds soooooooo little.
to say what I've lost - 3 stones - sounds like nothing. so I'll stick to pounds for lost - 43 pounds lost and I only weigh 26 stone!
