    Hey guys

    I have a question

I just ate lunch and am a bit hungry still so I had my co-worker grab me a double cheeseburger plain no bun from McDonalds...I keep looking at it debating whether or not I "need it"

Let me start by saying this is a level of self control I have NEVER had before.

Pre-Atkins....there would have been no looking back as I devoured the burger

I am on day 5 of induction

    TOTALLY CHEAT FREE

For Breakfast I had 2 harboiled eggs with a tablespoon of mayo / salt and pepper ( egg salad sans the toast! )
    Green tea 1 splenda

Lunch ( just finnished it )
2 Thin boneless baked porch chops
6 brussell sprouts ( frozen ) only salt & pepper

So why am I still a tad hungry?

Would it be safe to eat my double cheese burger and lettuce?

    Thanks so much!

    Jenn

If you are still hungry then yes by all means eat it. But make sure its got no tomato sauce on it.

      Thanks!

Maybe my problem is that in the past with fad diets I have steered so clear of red meat and ALL things McDonalds.....my concious is screaming NO DONT DO IT, YOU WILL BLOW EVERYTHING YOU HAVE WORKED HARD ON

Why does it taste so good????? I am so confused by this woe sometimes!!! How on earth could I actually enjoy myself this way and get healthier and healthier by the day?????

I know it all makes perfect sense in DANDR...but it still blows my mind!

Thanks for Listening to my mini-rant

You see my quote in my sig? About no beleiving how simple and effective this diet is?

That was the reason I wrote it. The exact reason as you state above.

I'm with Rich. If you are still hungry, eat. However, you might want to eat a quarter of it and see if you are still hungry. If so, then eat another quarter, reassess, etc.

This will help you to train yourself proper eating. Too many of us (myself included) over-eat. So re-learning how to recognize our hunger is a very good thing.

            Re: Need help

            I agree--if you're hungry, eat, don't deny yourself food!

Sometimes when I'm not sure if I'm hungry or not, I'll wait about 20 minutes (that's how long it takes your brain to realize that your body is full) and if I'm still hungry, I eat.

Make sure you're eating enough fat with your meals--I was hungry after meals first starting out and it was because I wasn't eating enough fat! Fat keeps you satisfied.

Isn't it wonderful to be able to eat a cheeseburger and lose weight?

              Re: Need help

The cheese on the burger is American cheese, so you'll want to think mentally that it's a carb's worth of cheese. Otherwise, it's great! Yesterday I had a Wendy's double cheeseburger with lettuce, mayo, tomato and onion.

So long as you eat when hungry and stop when you're no longer hungry, you're feeding your body and not emotions. And hunger changes daily, so one day you could find yourself starving, and other days notsomuch.

A glass of water and wait 20 minutes is great advice. Yesterday I ate lunch and thought I was still hungry. I drank a little and was not even hungry at 6:30pm.

But yea - eat the burger.

I agree with hudson and the others.

One thing so many of us (and I say "Us" here) have to relearn when we are hungry and when we are thirsty. I'd drink some water, make sure you are really hungry and not thirsty....and if you're hungry...by all means EAT!

                  You're doing a great job.

Texas double cheeseburger, no bun of course, and a caesar side salad from Wendy's is my favorite fast food lunch. And the best part it's only 2 bucks! Yes! I love the way they put one peice of lettuce on the burger so you can roll it up and eat it. Sometimes I eat the tomato sometimes not. Can you tell I eat this ALOT? LOL
