  • Caffiene

I know caffiene is a no-no. Can you explain why again?
I'm on extended induction... have been for some time now, and the only caffiene i have is in the morning, with my breakfast or in the afternoon. I choose to drink tea. Is this really going to hurt my results?

Caffeine can cause your blood sugar levels to spike.

It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!

I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

      Re: Caffiene

Each person is different. From what I understand, caffeine can cause a release of insulin. When the release of insulin gets to your blood stream and does its job of taking the glucose (the little that is there) out of the blood, you then get low blood sugar symptoms (hypoglycemic). Those symptoms can be hunger, cravings, irritability (for me--this is the reason I stay away from it), headache, fatigue, etc.

have you tried switching to decafe?

If you have a hard time switching to decaf, you can also try drinking 'half caff' try mixing your own regular coffee with decaffe, gradually adding in more decaffe until you are drinking just decaff. Helps with the withdrawl.
