Their regular medical adviser Dr. Manny was talking about how healthy low carb can be. He mentioned Atkins and said that eating the healthy fats did not contribute to heart attacks.

Lauren....WOOHOOO glad to hear this is getting some television coverage too.
There are 3 threads lurking around here about the new study that just came out...it's published on CNN.com and in the New England Journal of Medicine. It's a long term study over 20 years. The summary/conclusion says that low carb/high protein/high fat diet over a long period of time does NOT increase the risk of heart disease in women, AND if the proteins and fats come primarily from vegetable sources it may REDUCE the risk.~Joy

yep he knew it and shared it with us. that is from the long term nursed health study that they have been pulling definative medical info about fats weight and exercse from for the last yr so there is no way they can say it was flawed or bias eitherby the book atkinseer
