Re: question about basal and lifestyle
Basal metabolic rate is the number of calories required if you basically laid catatonic all day long, i.e. you stayed in bed and did nothing. The lifestyle calories are how many Calories a person with your daily activity level burns per day doing normal day to day activity, like walking, climbing stairs, house work, working. You want to for sure eat above your Basal rate generally to ensure your body does not go into starvation mode.Kent - 35-M-6'4"

Re: question about basal and lifestyle
Kent...seriously?
My basal is always at like...1800. Yet I rarely eat about 1300. I've been losing weight at a healthy and regular pace...opinions? I think I'd be stuffing myself if I ate 1800 calories everyday. Oh wait it says 'generally'...I think I'm ok then.START 8/16/06 @ 270+~MG1: 220-12/2/06~MG2: 210-1/07~MG3: 199-3/2/07~MG4: 190-4/27/07~MG5: 180-7/04/07~GOAL: 170
