  • Newbie Here, with Funny Things to Talk about.

Hi, I'm Lauren ::Everyone reply's: HI LAUREN!::

Hehe, anyway, I am new to the board. And I am now on day 6 of my induction. I am trying to not look at the scale every day, but I am noticing the little decreses in weight...even though its .5 lbs.

I told my family about the diet, and they are supportive. But they dont understand what I can and cannot eat. My mom brought my FI and I meatloaf for dinner, and I told her, "I can't. There is BBQ sauce in it." She looked at me like I was weird, but I know you all understand.

I have not excercised yet, no time between work and wedding plans (4 months to wedding!) Anyhoo - it was pretty funny though, we went to Fridays last night, and I ordered a bacon swiss cheeseburger (hold the bread & no fries)...I tell ya, it was the weirdest thing I ever saw on a plate. But when we got up to leave, I noticed everyone pulled their breads off their hamburgers too!! Awwww. I had a little bit of chicken wings (no sauce or blu cheese dressing) and the burger.

So, HI!!! Hope to speak to you all soon.
    - Lauren

Welcome, Lauren. Sounds like family is supportive, even if they don't know the ropes yet. And that's a great thing!

Congrats on your upcoming wedding. There are lots of ways to get exercise in... check out the "Exercise Challenges" forum. Maybe you'll see one that sparks your interest.

Visit often (it's the best way to stay on track), and post your progress! Take care, and good luck to you!

Hi-hi Lauren! Welcome to the boards!

It does take a while for families to figure out what we're all about. My own sister was a bit shocked that I could eat butter but not Becel. Ah well.

I hope you have fun with us!

Hi Lauren. Thanks for sharing your story and making me laugh this morning. I know what you mean about people not understanding what you can and can't eat. My husband always thinks that Atkins means no sugar/carbs as in cake, cookies, and candy. "Honey," he will say, "What in the world is wrong with eating spaghetti??" Oh well. Congrats on the upcoming wedding! How exciting!
