  • water pills anyone?

Thanks!! Is it allowed on Atkins?

    Re: water pills anyone?

It is not recommended to take water pills. The Atkins way of life already acts as a diuretic so the excess water loss could cause electrolyte imbalance, which could be a very bad situation!

The best advice for water retention is believe it or not drink more water!

The natural food people say eat 2-3 cups of celery a dy. It is supposed to act as a natural diuretic.

Ketosis is a strong diuretic. So you do lose water. IF you are still retaining water, you might want to seek medical attention.

All good advice you've gotten; however, if it is the PMS variety water bloat which plagues you, the ingredient Pamabrom is genlte and effective. Is OTC in some female medications (with other stuff) as well as alone in the diuretic Odrinil.

You should only take water pils if the MD prescribes them. The problem with them, and I know cause I take them, is that they are for life. You can't quit taking them without gaining all the water back, plus more.
Drinking water is another good way to get rid of water in your system.

I used to find it at Eckerd's drug store, but have'nt seen lately. It would be by other diretics and weight loss products in a clear tube, yelllow tablets. Pamabrom is OTC and in several women's medicines for PMS.

I have some my dr. put me on, but don't use them. Since I started drinking 100 ounces of water a day, my body drops fluid like a hot potato. LOL. I don't retain it anymore.

I am so glad I saw this posted in. I need to drink more water, not take pills. I know my problems right now stem from not being active enough for the month I was sick, and I don't drink enough water! I know better!

                    Shame on me!

Thanks guys, for bringing this up, because I for one needed to see it!
