  • Why oh Why!?!?!

    Well I hope I didn't blow it this time. Man, day 11 on induction (thanksgiving) and I ate peas,mashed turnips,squash,small amount of stuffing with cranberries and peanut butter <--- (that was dessert) anyway, I felt so sick and bloated. I am going to resume atkins induction today and of course go to the gym as I always do....I feel so horrible and guilty though....I was so good....I was losing and everything....I hope being strict today will get me right back on track.....what do you think?

    Sherice, stick to the rules today and you'll get back on track. No point spending today feeling terrible about yesterday, its counter productive. I'm sure you'll get right back on track, just stay positive. I'm rooting for you!

      Hi Sherice, puts a pillow against you and the wall you are banging your head on. You have made the first step back on your journey, what i would do is analyze all you ate and make a conscious effort to identify what was a bad and good choice and why, then what i would do is make a plan for if you are confronted by the same again, what could you do differently to avoid the day after feelings, headbanging, guilt etc. What you ate may or may not kick you out of the progress you have made, getting back on plan will be a good choice. This iis a whole process so i would take some time today to identify some things that you will learn from this so if the obstacles pop up again, you will be able to get past with the good choices because they will be the most comfortable for you.

      hang in there. If you learn from this, improve from this, and keep progressing then you may have blown your ketosis and you may have to work to get back in it, but not all will be blown. Its when you don't learn that you tend to repeat mistakes.

      So let's change this thread just a little, and let me ask you this. You have Christmas coming up and parties etc, how are you going to use yesterday to benefit you and the upcoming days to help you stay on your progresss towards your goal?

        Thank you both for your support! I AM going to work hard today....I will try to lighten up a little....It could have been much worse I guess....I passed up the full sugar pies for mashed turnips....I am off this X-mas so I will not have to worry about my bf bringing home a plate for me...lol....So for x-mas I will bake my own sugar free sweets and bring those...as for dinner I will eat the meat and whatever veggie I am allowed to have...hopefully by then I will be out of induction and doing well......

          I remember just a few days ago you posted about another blowing oif your induction so

          you need to look very long and hard at your commitment to becoming a smaller healther person. Make a list of all the reasons you want to do atkins right now and another of all the reasons you don't/ place a number form 1-100 and you can reuse the numbers total them up and see which list is higher. if you are not committed to doing it now don't cause you are going to continue to jump off and be frustrated.

          if you are committed to doing it now
          start making a list and answer the 5 Ws every time you think about eating or go eat. who what where why and how you were feelong before during and afterwards. You will be come aware of triggering events foods or even people and you will need to alter those to avoid contiued cheating.

          ifr the other foods are making you cheat causse they are handy remove then from your house.

            Look to the future. No point in worrying about what's done. Now you know that upping the carbs makes you feel awful... it's a lesson learned.
            Get back on track with food, exercise and water.
            You can do this!

              I'm not one to pat people on the back, sugar coat stuff, and do the warm-fuzzies thing. BUT honestly you could have done SOOO much worse. Truly. You will be fine.
