I know Dr. Atkins tells us to eat until we are satisfied. And I've heard over and over from various sources that we should not drop below a certain amount of calories per day (I don't recall the number now) because our body will go into "starvation mode" and we won't lose weight. I know we've all heard that before - you have to eat to lose weight, don't starve yourself.
So what happens if we really are satisfied for the day and not hungry, but we've only had 800 - 900 - 1,000 calories? The fat/protein combos we eat keep us full longer and some days we really may not have a very big calorie count.
I don't want to keep eating if I'm really satisfied, but I don't want my body to think I'm starving it and hang on to the fat!
