  • Favorite water container?

Have you guys noticed that it's a lot easier to get your water in with certain containers rather than others? I'm even picky about my bottled water bottles (I refill them anyway). With some, the water just seems to gone down quicker. I like the Deer Park 700ml one -- it's sort of hour glass shaped. Yesterday I was drinking out of a bigger, heavier bottle, and it seemed to take forever.

I've also found that I do MUCH better when the bottle is clear and I can see my progress. If I'm not using a clear water bottle, a straw helps.

So, what's YOUR favorite container for drinking our favorite miracle beverage?

I have this purple nalgene bottle with a red cap that I use everyday! I love it because it's indestructable. I've dropped this thing onto pavement, banged it against trees, I freeze it, I leave it in my car when it's 110 degrees, nothing can damage this thing!

It's clear so I can see my progress...and it's measured on the side in ml. and oz.

I even drink out of it at home...at the dinner table. I'm like this big ole' grunting jock or somethin'.

What ever works for you, Tarzan. I like the idea of a purple water bottle. Why are you hitting it against a tree, anyway?

I always pour myself water for dinner, and get so annoyed when my DH drinks from my glass or bottle. How can I track my progress if someone else has their tounge in my drink! The kids do it, too, bu they don't drink as much -- and aren't as cabable of getting their own darn drink! -- so I cut them some slack.

I love the nalgene bottles - I have red, blue and purple... mmmm.. LEXAN. I love lexan. Indestructable, doesn't retain smells (not that I would have left a protein shake in it and forgotten about it in a 110 degree car or anything like that)... uhm, and they're pretty, and 32oz. For Christmas, I'm asking for at least one more (cause I left the blue one in my gym back, and the purple one at home, so I only have the red one at work anymore, and it's much easier to fill all three at the beginning of the day at work and then drink 96 oz before 5p)... If you see a pink one without a stupid flower on it, lemme know.

By the way, they can survive being rolled off a roof (a house and/or a car) too.

What the heck are you guys DOING to your water bottles??

          I think I need to ask for one of those for Christmas. N A L G E N E. Got it.

Thanks, you guys, for you pity posts on my thread. If I was going to talk to just y'all, I could have done that in our jounals. Apparently this one has really caught on like wildfire.

Another Nalgene fan here! I hae a Pink Ribbon one I bought for breast cancer in October, I also have a blue one, and a smaller purple one. I even have one that I bring my vodka in when I go out to someones house if i have a large 40oz bottle and don't want to bring the whole thing .

Though I did hear somewhere there was a warning about leaving them in heat or washing them in very hot water..Though it could be one of those internet scare things i'm sure....

Come to think of it, I think my DH might have bought a pink (breast cancer) one for my daughter for tennis. I think it's a smaller one, though.

Yup, I'm going to ask Santa to put one of those in my stocking. Or maybe 3. I like the idea of having three to finish, Lyssie, to make sure you get it all in.

I also bought a couple of the smaller ones for my son, and then our company gave out some of them from the same material but with our logo (they don't really count).

I like big bottles...then I don't have to drink so many of them. There is a clear plastic jug that I got from Walmart. It holds 64 ounces and has a sport nozzle to drink from.

At Publix, I get their spring water in a 1.5 liter bottle. I like those too.

At minimum I like 24 ounce sport bottles.

I usually do the 24-ouncers, Joy. I think the really big bottles are too overwhelming for me... Would be good for the upper body, though.

                        Re: Favorite water container?

I buy 12 or 24pks of water (500ml/16oz) from the grocery store. I like using them because I know I have to drink at least 4/day. If I'm at home I keep refilling them from our water cooler. Usually I bring one with me whenever I go out and when I finish it off I'll toss it. That way I don't use the same bottle for too many refills (I don't bother rinsing it out when I'm at home).

I had a ginormous stash of empty water bottles in the back of the car going (I do my best water drinking in the car or at the computer). . . I was trying to fill it up so if you sat back there it would be like sitting in one of those bins of plastic balls they have in kids play areas. We cleaned it out on recycle day though .

I have a bunch of weird water quirks though. I only like drinking water out of a bottle - not a glass. If I do drink it out of a glass, it has to have ice in it. I can drink room temp water, but only if I know the bottle started out cold . . . OK that is a dumb one . . . um yeah, I'm weird.

                        Good thread though.

                          I forgot to add . . .

I can't have any fancy water bottle, because I have a tendancy to leave them lying around everywhere. I've gone to the gym to do weights, and I'll leave my water at the first machine, and have to come back and try to find it after the third or fourth. And if you walk through my dept at work, you'll be sure to find half empty water bottles everywhere (not so bad as when I was drinking pop though. I'm more carful about finishing off the water bottles so I can keep track).

Nope your not that weird, I too only like room temp water and cant drink it out of a glass unless it has ice, especially at a restaurant (even the ice doesn't help). Can't drink it with a straw either. And I only drink tapwater as my main water (i refuse to pay for bottled water unless I'm out and have to).

And i can't stand Dasani water (reverse osmosis)! blech!
