  • I made it!! Today is last day of induction

    Hi Everyone,
Today is my last day of induction and I'm really proud of myself. I had some rough moments, but I feel great! I went from 176 to 165 lbs, so I'm really happy. I have approximately 17 more lbs to go. I'm 5'6" and 32 so for my frame 148 would be great. I've been exercising here and there, but I felt drained during induction...mainly due to my "monthly friend". Anyway I start my exercise routine tomorrow, so I'm excited.
I have to pull out my atkins book and reread the OWL portion. I believe I can increase my carbs by 5gms using low carb veggies...right?
Well thanks for posting all your questions, answers and experiences...it really kept me motivated.
    Take Care,
    DeeLite

Congratulations. Sounds like you've done OUTSTANDING on your induction. I'm so happy to see you moving right into the Ongoing Weight Loss phase. You add 5 net grams of vegetables to whatever your induction levels were.

For example, if you were eating 15 net grams of carbs during induction, you add 5 net of vegetables for a total of 20 net grams.

If you are eating a vegetable you had during induction, you can have those additional 5 net grams of carbs every day. If you are trying a new vegetable, you'll only want to eat 5 net grams of that vegetable 3 times during the week. What you are trying to do is introduce new foods slowly and check your reaction to them. Do they make you crave? It's really kind of fun adding new foods to your diet.

Definitely check out the Ongoing Weight Loss forum and all the stickies at the top.
