  • 2nd timers success???

    Hey guys,

I love 110+ lbs on Atkins and held it off for 4 years. However, lately, I've handed back 20lbs. I've been aroudn this board trying...but I can't get back in the groove.

I'd love to hear from anyone who's lost loved and lost again!! I'm secretly worried that my metabolism is somehow so used to this that the magic is gone.

    Any thoughts???

Hmm...Well my regain was MUCH bigger than yours (try 85lb!) but I am following the plan correctly this time--that was my downfall before. <sigh>

I will admit, it's been a bit harder this time, and I don't know if it's my body being "used to" Atkins, because I'm a couple years older and my metabolism has changed, or if it's a different work schedule. Who knows? BUT I will tell you that I'm following the rules this time, I learned from my past mistakes, and I'm actually liking my body WAY more than I did before. I'm understanding my body and how it changes and I think it's the wisdom of having done it before and fallen off the wagon.

So far I've lost almost 47lb. I started August 17 and so I think losing 50lb within 4 months will be very acceptable progress. I'm about 40lb. away from my "goal" but I might re-evaluate once I reach it, if I want to lose more weight, etc.

The magic is NOT gone, simply because it's not magic--it's just healthy, smart eating. If you follow the rules, success will be yours.

There is no doubt the 'Second Time Around' is a bit more challenging. This is my 2nd time and I've learned a lot from the first time. My goal is to really be a loser and continue to reap the support of this community.

Much success Thinker, we've got your back. Julirama, I'm so proud of your success. Do your thing girl.

      Peace and Blessings.

Don't be afraid to do it. You know it already works for you so give it a try. It took me a while to get back into it, but I didn't give up. Now I look back on my blogs and food journals I kept with attempts to restart and wonder why I just didn't give myself a bit of a push a bit farther, since that's what I wanted and no one was stopping me. Get your Induction foods real soon, and commit to two weeks. You will be on your way! Babs

PS If you haven't already, check out the Second Time Around forum. (STAC) We're all doing it again!

everyone has given you wonderful advice.

Atkins works, when you work Atkins.

Be proud of yourself for taking things under control before the weight gain climbed higher

Why Thank You Ladies!!! I remember fondly watching the pounds fall off like nothing. Now...well....I have to work at it harder. I swear I'm hitting 20gr, but Ketosis just seems a lot harder to reach. Maybe it just takes longer....
