  • Anyone?

Allergic to pumpkin seeds? IS this possible? I thought they were hypoallergenic. In my case, nothing surprises me anymore but any input would be appreciated. Oh, because I am down about my countless allergies, list your food allergies and symptoms so I don't feel so alone in my misery.

    Re: Anyone?

I am actually crying over this. It feels like I am allergic to way too many foods, especially the ones I love. I just found out the other day that I am allergic to eggs when I went in for a scratch test. Before you know it, I will be allergic to my beloved steaks as well! My doctors are not very helpful. It's quite frustrating. They just tell me to avoid these foods, which is a lot of foods. I have been basically living on ground beef, butter and veggies and am down to 110 lbs now. My allergies coupled with my hypoglycemia mean I have to avoid countless foods AND many carbs. *rant over*

        Re: Anyone?

Any food can be allergic. If your body develops an immune response to it, you can be allergic. Moreover you can develop allergies to foods, especially if you are exposed to them frequently. That's why Dr. Atkins warned against eating the same foods over and over and over and over and over again.

You might want to talk to your allergist because there are better tests for food allergies than the scratch or patch tests.
