I drank I Diet Rite Coke today and got a headache afterwards. I remember from my last go around that I had suspicions that Splenda was giving me headaches. I tried the coke today and sure enough about 15 minutes after I drank it I got a headache. Anyone else this is happening to?

Re: Splenda and Headaches
I've been working with my doctor to figure it out, and we've discovered together that Splenda is actually what is probably causing my migraines. Kind of a shame, really, but migraines can actually kill you (severe ones can cause full-blown strokes), especially the kind I have (a kind called Hemiplegic Migraine in which half of my body goes numb, mimicking a real stroke), so I'm working to try get Splenda out of my diet.
I'm weaning myself off it and am going to experiment to see if other sweeteners work better for my body. It's either do that or take medicine that I wouldn't need otherwise -- and hope that I don't still have the attacks. No stats. Not weighing anymore ever. Will post "before and after" pictures when I want to. The end.

Vigilance, not perfection.

Re: Splenda and Headaches
WOW, thats not good at all. I have what has been diagnosed with migraine/muscle tension headaches by a couple of different neurologists. I have gotten them all my life since I was about 7. They hardly ever come anymore, but I think I am going to lay off splenda anyway. Thats okay, Diet Rite doesnt takes that great anyway. When I did Atkins before I allowed myself nutrasweet after about the 4th week and it never stalled me. I am going to hold off on that too not unless I really need a diet cream soda. Its just a slippery slope.

Saccarin is on the "ok" list of sweetners too. Maybe that would suit you better. Migraines are dire! Before and after:
