Ahh Sherice, join the club. I am willing to bet some big $$ that it's muscle replacing the fat. Muscle is more dense, meaning it takes up less space (smaller tummy). HOWEVER, if you've just worked out, muscle retains water in order to repair it (weight gain).

I've been feeling the joys of this phenomenon for the past month.

How often are you weighing? My body has daily and weekly fluctuations depending on what I eat, WHEN I eat, how much water I drink, how much I exercise and WHEN I exercise.

I'm telling the scale to go to heck and I'm hosting a No-weigh challenge for January...sign up if you're interested!

Remember, if you're following the plan AND exercising AND seeing a loss of inches, the "weight gain" is likely to be water retention/muscle.

I weigh everyday....I am OBSESSED!! lol....I know I need to get over it....Everyone keeps telling me I am skinny and it's probably just muscle and water weight...but any jump in weight scares me to death!!! I just want to reach my goal weight of 118. It seems like when I get closer the next day my weight jumps back up 5 pounds...but I can say my natural waist is the smallest its been since I started...so hopefully I am moving in the right direction....and I always weigh after I exercise....is that bad?

I wouldn't stress too much about scale fluctuations. The scale can be an evil beast at times... go by your measurements or the way your clothes feel.

          Sally is right!!

Many Atkineers find after following the Atkins way of Eating that they are able to wear smaller clothes at the same weight they used to be before gaining weight and needing to 'diet' because they lose fat and increase muscle!!

Anyway - who can see what your weight is unless you get a T-shirt printed saying 'I weigh xxx pounds!!!?!?

Isnt it better to be a slimmer trimmer you at whatever number the scales show?
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

              Re: inch loss,scale gain!?!?!?!?

Is your period due soon? Even when I weighed 130lbs(yeah when I was like 16 years old, lol) I would gain SEVERAL pounds before my period came. Also just keep remembering that muscle weighs more then fat but looks smaller. If you are exercising that could be the case. Do you have any way to check your body fat? I have a scale that does body fat and that might be helpful for you when the scale isn't being friendly weight wise.
