  • Anyone using pilates sculpting video's to tone? Did they help?

I just purchased the pilates sculpting DVD, with the exercise band. One DVD is for sculpting Abs and the other is for sculpting upper arms and toning.

Has anyone here used it. If so, how were the results.
I'm not looking for anything major, just a little toning and exercise in general. I started this as a light exercise for me and to help ease my body into more flexibility.

I've done windsor pilates off and on for a while. I like it...haven't had stunning results but that will becasue of my less than stunning effort! It has helped my flexability more than anything. It also made me more conscious of my abs when I move, it reminds me to suck it in and move with good posture.

Lisa - I'm doing the Windsor Pilates and have slacked off for a few weeks due to an injury. MAN can I tell that I haven't been doing it. The great thing is that it only takes 15 - 20 mins. The bad thing is OWWW - PAIN! (I wonder if I'll ever manage some of those positions!) I'd highly recommend it for firming and toning! Have fun!

        Thanks Kacey.
Mine is with the over sized rubber bands and the exercises there are more like what we did when I was in school. Simple stretching ones.
I started it yesterday. I thought I would be sore, but the thing is..I started out sore and inflexible when I started the exercises. Aparently it had the reverse. Instead of being sore, I am now about 45% more flexible than I was yesterday and able to move about more easily. And the soreness I did have is much lessened. Go figure.

I used it for abs only!

I think Pilates is fabulous. Since I work all other parts of my body via brisk walking on the treadmill and resistance training, I would only need it for abdominal work. Thus the Winsor Pilates Ab Sculpting DVD was a great fit and kept my abs in shape.

But since working just my abs for a whopping 20 minutes was starting to exasperate me - especially since I suspected I could get identical results in just half the time, I replaced it with the 10-minute Basic Ab Workout For Dummies last December 2005 and have been doing it ever since.

If anyone knows of a good strictly-for-abdominals DVD even shorter than 10 minutes, I'm always open to suggestions!
