Happy New Year all. Yesterday was day 6 of induction for me. Except I blew it in the late afternoon. (Totally emotional mess up. Boyfriend broke up with me on New Years!...whatever, right?) Someone told me (not on this board) that if you mess up a little you might as well forget the whole day and get back on track the next day. So that's what I did. My question is, how badly did I mess up? How many days did I set myself back? I didn't really notice any weight loss anyway yet but does this mean I am going to blow up now?

Re: How badly did I mess up?
One thing you need to remember is your friend is wrong. When you 'mess up' and then when you come to your senses, IMMEDIATELY go back on induction friendly foods--never wait until tomorrow--make the very next bite of food fat and protein. Tomorrow is usually the reason people fall off totally and have so much trouble ever getting back on track. Later or tomorrow mostly equal never. As to how bad you messed up, it's hard to say, but I would consider this to be day one again. It will probably take you at least two days to get back into ketosis, depending on how loaded with carbs the food was that you ate. Just get right back to a clean induction and you will be fine. Success is the best revenge, so make something positive from a very bad day.
Sunny!People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.

Re: How badly did I mess up?
Sorry to hear about your troubles... and that they pushed you into a reunion with extra carbs. It's good though that you're back on track now. What's done is done; no point in agonising over it. Much better to think about how you can avoid falling into the same trap next time you have some kind of trauma. Not easy, but the more you recognise the triggers, the better you'll be able to cope in the future.
Forget about yesterday... think about tomorrow and your goal! You can do this! Before and after:

Re: How badly did I mess up?
Thank you both for your kind words and advice. It's really good advice and yeah, I'll just try not to really worry about what's already done. I am just looking forward to finally getting a handle on my weight and being happy! Thanks again!
