  • Green Tea?

So I came back to check in and see what is going on around here, and I can't help but see this giant ad for green tea at the top of the site.

Has anyone actually tried drinking loads of green tea, and does anyone think it really can contribute to weight loss or is it just another one of those fads?

If it worked everyone would be drinking green tea by the bucketfulls....
Thats what I say about all these weight loss supplements, if they really worked everyone would be buying them, they wouldnt be as expensive and you could find them everywhere, even gas stations and vending machines...lol

Actually, EVERYONE should drink green tea.

Google it and you will discover all the great ways green tea can improve your health. I take green tea supplements AND I drink it. Great source of antioxidants .. (ECGC) Not sure if the weight loss aspect is true or not, but for health reasons alone, its very worthwhile.

I don't know if it counts, but I drink Liptons Diet Gree Tea. It does have some ingredients that I can't pronounce, but it got me off the Diet Coke and seems to be much easier on my tummy. If I can just make my own and have it taste the same that would be great. But I started drinking it because I like the taste and it's refreshing.

I take green tea suppliments, I just started about two weeks ago. I don't know if they help you loose weight, but I take them for the other benefits of the antioxidants and they are supposed to give you extra energy. With my schedule it is hard to say if I have extra energy or not, but I am not falling asleep at work........Dawn

Green Tea is good for the body. I did some research on it, way back while doing Induction last year. I did lose a good amount of weight then normal, but I can't say that it was the Tea? I use the Lipton decaf brand and I drink it plain and hot. I actually have a cup waiting for me in the microwave.

              Re: Green Tea?

A lot of the board members here swear by green tea. Green tea extract is one of the main ingredients in Atkins Accel. My personal experience with green tea is that it seems to have helped in my weight loss (very subjective observation).

                Re: Green Tea?

I have been drinking approx 16-20 ounces of green tea per day on avg of five days a week for the past 12 years. During that time, I lost 55 pounds, gained 70 pounds, lost 30 pounds, gained 30 pounds, and now lost 30 gain. Obviously, I am not the Green Tea Promotes Weight Loss poster child. Or, maybe I am but I also double as the Green Tea Promotes Weight Gain poster child??!! Anyway, I doubt it had any effect one way or the other in my case.
