    Hi Orann

I hope your doctor's visit went well
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!

      Re: 2 Months & NOT LOSING !!!

I see now why I may have only lost 2 pounds during induction and since. I've only been eating about 1800 - 2000 calories a day. My %'s at fitday are always close to bang on. But according to the BMR calculation I need 3800 calories to maintain my weight and 2800-3300 to lose sucessfully. Whoa! That seems crazy to me. I find it a chore to eat 2000 cals. I used to eat a lot of sugar laden products which would have rasied my daily calorie intake, but now on atkins it's tough to eat that much food to get to about 2800 +. Do I really need to eat that much more? I have been eating till satisified like the book says and that's it. I do exercise quite hard 4-5 days/week as well so who knows? Any sugestions?

Hi G2Gunner. How much do you currently weigh? Sometimes the BMR on fitday can be a little off, but for the most part it's alright. I would maybe add some, but not the full amount. If you can get up to like 2500 calories that'd be great. An easy way to do that is to add just a tblspn of oil, butte,r or mayo to something and then maybe 3-4 oz more of meat. Actually, an even easier way is to add a snack of salami and cheese. That alone can give you an extra 300-400 calroies if you eat about 1-2 oz. of cheese and about 5-6 slices of salami.

I'm around 272-274 lbs. depending on the day it seems. I'm right on 6'0" and I'm 29 years old. I have a fair amount of muscle as well. yeah I guess if I add more butter or more snacks I could get it up fairly easy. Thanks for the feedback. I'll try more like 2400- 2600 cal. days for the next week.

Wow! This has been an amazingly informative thread. I started Atkins on January 1 and am down 12.5 as of today. I'm sticking with induction, but now I see I may not be eating enough. Its not that I'm intentionally trying to eat less, but I'm horribly picky. Think I'll go check out fitday now. Thanks for all the great info!

              Re: 2 Months & NOT LOSING !!!

I have been on for 5 weeks and only lost 5 pounds. The test strips are always pink and many times purple. I feel i have lost some inches in my clothes (pants especially!) but
should it be so slow? and if the strips are pink I must be burning fat, but is it that if you eat too much fat, that is the fat you are burning, you know, like you just filled up the tank and are not using stored fat?

Amithereyet, how much do you weigh/want to weigh? You should take measurements and see what's going on with the inches. As for the food thing, if you eat more calories than your body burns, you will not lose weight. This fact doesn't change with Atkins. Perhaps you could post a couple days of what you eat in the "review my menu" forum and people will let you know suggestions or whether you're right on and it's just going a little slower for you.

                  Re: 2 Months & NOT LOSING !!!

Well I upped my calories because I suspected I may have been eating too little, but still no weight loss beside 1 or 2 pounds( it keeps jumping around) I've been working out like a mad man too! Anyway, I'm patient, but it's really frustrating me. Last time on atkins I lost 20 pounds the first month and I wasn't even that strict. This time I'm super strict and it's almost been a month with no loss at all. It so hard to tell if my clothes feel any different. If there is, I can't really tell. It all seems ridiculous to me. I keep debating wether or not to switch to a low fat / low calorie diet because my friend is doing it and not exercising and lost 10 lbs this month so far. The peer presure sucks and the "I told you so" routine is getting old. I need some help from the Atkins Gods. ahhhh.. shoot me now! lol

Have you posted your menu for review? Are you doing cardio or weights? Did you take measurements in the beginning? If not, you might want to now... sometimes you can lose weight from the strangest places (like your knees and ankles)...

Did you ever measure yourself? You could be losing inches and fat, but all the working out like a mad man might be doing exactly what you want ti to and might be building muscle, which would counteract your fat losses.
