  • help with low carb bars

I seen some candy bar type things at the store the other day, anyway it says 21 total carbs but also says to count only two grams net carbs, what does this mean is it ok to eat these?

These bars contain so called sugar-alcohols, that are the other 19 carbs in the bar, they can cause people to stall, also most of them contain ingredients that are not allowed during induction (like nuts and fruits etc.) so it is not advised to eat these.

Soliwit has it right... those bars stall so many people they aren't worth the risk, particularly in induction or even during the other weight loss phases of Atkins.
Healthy real foods are a much better option and the more we eat those the less we want the rubbish.

besides they taste horrible and are very expensive ..if you want to eat them go ahead but know you are puting more crapfood in your body and the whole point of doing this is to learn how prepare for yourself and eat wonderful food

for the almost $2 per price tag you could buy 2 jicama's!!!!

I agree that the Atkins Advantage bars don't taste very good but I do eat the Atkins Endulge bars. I have them anywhere from 1-3 times a week (chocolate cocoanut is great) and have had no problem. They satisfy my occasional craving for something sweet and chocolatey. That said, I know that sometimes this can become a slippery slope, one starts eating too many of them or, worse, gets cravings for other sweet stuff. But for myself, I've found that eaten in real moderation they feel like a true indulgence and I don't gain weight.
