  • I just screwed up big time

    I don't know what's wrong with me today. I have been doing great for months, even through the holidays. I did just get over being sick with something like the flu and did well through that, too.

    Today, however, I had a really bad craving for carbs. My 3 year old son did not want to eat his little debbie gingerbread man and he placed it right in front of me out of it's wrapper. I grabbed it and ate it. It was so good!!! After that I ate two strawberry pop tart go tarts and 2 whole wheat chocolate chip cookies!! Then i had a glass of cold organic milk. Help me, please. I want to do the right thing, but I lost it for some reason.

    It's like a drug, and we are ADDICTS!

    The only thing to be done is make the VERY NEXT BITE legal. Drink some water, and allow yourself NOTHING else that's not on plan. It's like driving down the road...you pulled over for a pitstop, but you MUST get back on the road. Keep your eye on the prize.

      Don't let this turn into a big crazy carb cycle! Get yourself some high fat legal snacks quick! Get right back on track! Don't give yourself an excuse to let go of everything you've worked so hard for! One cheat will not ruin your weight loss if you get right back on track now!

          The best thing for you to do is to 1. get back on your Atkins and 2. figure out what triggered you. Sometimes people, especially those who 'extend' Induction, get bored with their menues and fall off.

            Yep, I sure have done it. But when I can look far enough past the carb frenzy haze, I remember what I'm working toward and get right back to it. Thoughts of "Oh well, I've already blown it today, I might as well eat <<insert bad food here>>" ARE NOT ALLOWED. Get right back to it with the very next bite.

              Don't beat yourself up......get back on track NOW....don't wait until tomorrow. Drink tons of water and you will be fine..don't let one screw up turn into a whole weeks worth of eating crap....if I can do it (I am the worst cheater ever) YOU CAN DO IT> You are worth it!!!!!!

                Actually, we're in exactly the same boat.

                I just got through wolfing down a king size candy bar in about 30 second flat, and right away felt that "oh my god! why did I just do that?" feeling.

                I immediately came to this site for support, and your post was the first thing I saw! After reading everybody's response, I will just jumb back on the horse that threw me, and start eating correctly again the next time I'm hungry. (Too full right now).

                  Get back on track girlie! We've all had slipups before and I'm sure the guilty feeling isn't a good one, go make yourself a HUGE on plan meal, you'll enjoy it and be too stuffed to think about bad carbs! LOL

                      Just wanted to let everyone know that I did get back on track and I'm stronger than ever. I even started exercising more! I think it had to do with me having the flu. I just wanted something starchy like when you eat crackers, you know? I just went overboard!! I am back though!!!

                        Oh man! Strawberry poptarts are killer! I hear ya sister! The only thing that you can do is pick it back up and go on...learn from it...remember how badly it made you feel to not "stick with it" and try to use that to your advantage the next moment of weakness. Hope this helps.
