    Ok....it is the TOM and I was very crazed and needed some chocolate. I had a few pieces, felt better, and left it right there. The next things I ate were all legal....I was surpirsed since I thought the chocolate would have tasted amazing since I haven't had any in over a month, but it was just OK. Kind of disappointing. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I am not going to gain back all the weight I lost due to this indiscretion, will I?

    I feel the same way and it's only during TOM. I don't care how well I have been doing on Atkins a few days before TOM, my cravings are horrible. I will make my husband go get me a Hershey bar! I have tried going for a walk, drinking a lot of water but it just doesn't help during that time. I did try the sugar free chocolate and lets just say that I had more than one piece and paid for it all night!!! Gross!

      Why not try making chocolate mousse or having a bit of cream cheese and splenda instead? This way you can eat something legal that won't knock you out of ketosis and undo all your hard work.

        Sorry Julie...there are certain times when nothing but REAL CHOCOLATE will do. I made some kind of recipe with cream cheese and splenda and cocoa powder and cream.....YUCK> It gave me nightmares.

          Cocoa powder and cream and splenda really gets rid of my chocolate need!

          I do agree on what you said. B4 Xmas I had some chocolate hobnobs, expecting them to taste amazing and they really didnt. I was totally disappointed and gave the rest of the packet away.

          Did Atkins on and off from Feb 2005 until April 2008. Fluctuated between 15 st 1/211lbs and 11 st 1/155lbs.
          On different weightloss programme from 28th May 2008 start weight 14 st 11/207lbs.
          Current weight 10st 3lbs/143lbs.
          Ultimate Goal Weight 9 st/126lbs.

            I use that recipe for my normal chocolate cravings but this was SERIOUS!!!!!!

              Strange how we remember carby things as tasting wonderful, and when we get to try them again they're disappointing. I guess eating more healthy foods gives us a new set of "taste priorities". Gotta love Atkins!
