    Re: Quick Question...

I always thought it meant NOT FURTHER SPECIFIED...but of course that could be totally wrong! If you have the package from the cheese, why not enter it as a custom food? That way you'll know you have EXACTLY the right info for the cheese you're using. Hope this helps.

Not for sure. (as Kyle said, Not further specified)

It is best if you can find something specific. But, if you aren't for sure about something you can use the NFS one.

On your example, your options for Mozzarella may have been
      Cheese, Mozzarella, Imitation
      Cheese, Mozzarella, Skim
      Cheese, Mozzarella, NFS

It averages the imitation and the skim (the other options) for the NFS one.

        Re: Quick Question...

        thanks yall. one more quickie...

tomatoes. ugh. its taken me forever to find the place for 3 small slices. my net carbs are gonna be 19 without the tomatoes. im pretty scared to add the tomatoes now. just in case. what if small to them means cherry or grape tomatoes. small to me means not the biggest in the package or the middle sized one. when i found where i could measure three small slices heres what it gives me...

        Amount Per 3 thin/small slice Calories 9.45
        Calories from Fat 1.34

        Total Carbohydrate 2.09g 1%
        Dietary Fiber 0.495g 2%

i could do two. i didnt even think of that. haha. or maybe none would be just fine to be safe. maybe ive been overeating. i dunno. i say that a lot too. haha

i chose the skim version cuz im sure thats what we always get. my husband is at the store getting it. so im actually pre-adding my stuff.

          thanks yall for helping me!

            Re: Quick Question...

They have a selection for cherry tomatoes and also for the italian/roma tomatoes

            I choose
            Tomatoes, Raw

There is a selection for a medium slice that is 1/4" thick. It doesn't specify what a small/thin slice would be, but it would have to be less than 1/4" thick.

Don't forget to SUBTRACT Fiber from your total carbs to get net carbs.

              Re: Quick Question...

I have put many of my usual foods into fitday as "custom foods". I read the label and put the information in. This way I am absolutely sure it counts the brand what I've been eating and not some "average thing".
