  • A Mayo Question

Every mayonaise label i read has sugar listed in the ingredients but in the g counts it shows 0 on most of them

is the amount of sugar in these so minimal it wont impact my weight loss?

    Re: A Mayo Question

perhaps you should switch to a brand that has no sugar. I use kraft or helmons real mayo and theres no sugar added.

      Re: A Mayo Question

I think it also depends how much mayonnaise you are eating. If the serving size is 1 tablespoon and it contains 0 grams sugar (but the label lists sugar as an ingredient), then I think you are safe counting that one serving as 0 carbs. But if you eat more than the listed serving size, you should start counting "hidden" carbs, say, 1 carb for every serving above the first serving you eat.

              Re: A Mayo Question

It is a pity that USA labelling regulations use a 'serving' size instead of being like in UK and many other countries where they use either 100 grams or 100 mls. It is much easier for us to get an accurate estimate of how many grams of sugar are in our mayo. The one I use has 0.9 carbs per 100 grams (3.5 ounces weight) which would be about 7 or eight tablespoonsworth!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

                Re: A Mayo Question

I so agree with you on that Elizellen, I think the way they do it here it is easier to fool the public, if they would have labels like you mention, with every amount stated for 100 grams of the product, the labels would be way more honest, also it would be way easier to do a fast comparison of foods, because you don't have to squint to see what the servingsize is and try to do the maths to see which one of the products is the better choice.
