I have never used the tablets, so I am not sure about the carb count per tablet...but I can tell you that you are limited to 3 sweetener servings per day. Hopefully someone else can answer about the tablet form.

I did some quick research and looks like splenda is 2 calories per teaspoon and the tablets are 0.2 calories per tablet. I guess based on this difference, tablets are 10 times smaller, grams-wise.. makes sense mathematically anyway. But I wouldn't go putting 30 tablets in my decaf coffee. just put enough to sweeten it and you should be ok for induction

That's the way Dr. A wrote the plan - to limit sweetener servings to 3 a day. I am sure it is a combination of reasons - from the fact that they are artificial & we shouldn't eat a pile of anything artificial to the fact that eating/drinking sweet things can sometimes spark cravings and also some people do find that the sweeteners interfere with their weight loss goals. Hope this helps. And coffee has carbs, too - so you don't want to go overboard with that either. Good luck to you!

Back to the discussion of how many tablets is a serving - if a tablet is a not a serving, then it wouldn't be 3 tablets - it would be 3 x however many tablets is one serving. Hope that makes sense!

Kylie is correct. In one of his books, Dr. Atkins said the goal of his dieters should be to eliminate using added sugars. Artificial sweeteners are only to be used to help us wean ourselves off that super-sweet taste. And then, to get off the artificial sweetener.
Also Dr. Atkins found that 'excessive' use of Aspartame caused weight loss stalls or slow downs in some people. 'Excessive' was defined as 3 or more servings in the 1992 diet. That number wasn't changed for the 2002 diet. So there is a method to his madness, so to speak.
