  • Help! I need some willpower!

Tomorrow will be my 14th day. I had lost 9 lbs, but I gained two back. I get very discouraged when I do not see results and it makes me want to cheat!!

It is that wonderful time of the month, though! Does anyone else have trouble gaining a couple back at that time??

I've been drinking sooooo much water, my eyes are floating!!

I know 9 lbs is great, but I feel like it should keep moving. Can I do anything to jump start it again??

    Thanks, Traci.

Hi Traci! 9 pounds is GREAT! That's about 19% of what you want to lose - rule of thumb is that you will lose between 5% and 10% during induction - so you are ahead of the game! And YES!, I can all but guarantee that the 2 pounds you "gained" are nothing but water due to TOM. Maybe you should wait to weigh again until day after tomorrow - on day 15 - perhaps TOM's effects will have moved on...then you will see the full results of your induction that you can use to plan for the rest of your Atkins phases. Great work- don't give up now - the scale is NOT the only indicator of success - take your measurements - pay attention to how your clothes fit and how you feel!

Also, I will tell you that it is not at all uncommon for your weight loss to slow or stop for a week or two or so AFTER induction - but that doesn't mean you won't be getting smaller. I really can't stress enough how we all need to use tools other than the scale to monitor progress and success. Hang in there - sometimes the ride is bumpy - but it's worth it!

Yes, I have the same problem with gaining during TOM. On my 3rd week of Atkins I gained back 5 lbs. due to TOM but once it was over I lost that plus 3 more. Just hang in there and do not cheat. There will be times that you will not lose anything on the scale but you will still be shrinking. Just make up your mind that you are not going to cheat - just don't do it. No if's ands or butts. (LARGE or small) LOL!!

You can upload them to photo bucket then copy the URL they give you and you copy and paste it into your siggy (User Cp) or post it into a message.

What also helped me a lot in believing what I'm doing is right is reading this here thread: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ead.php?t=5774
You are doing really well, so keep up what you are doing, and gaining during TOM is perfectly normal, every woman has that problem.
