Re: Does the 'fat fast' actually work?
I'm one of the OWL forum mods. Believe me, I've seen legal Induction foods like broccoli or celery wreak havoc on people. There are specific reasons why Dr. Atkins allowed some foods on the Induction food list and excluded others.
Then plug your menu into fitday.com. As I said, I have a feeling that you are overeating your proteins and eating too little fat. That's sounds strange to be criticized for eating too little fat, but it's the fat that keeps you satisfied between meals because fat takes longer to digest than protein or carbs.
Furthermore, excessive protein converts to glycogen and body fat. So if you overeat that protein, you may find yourself in a position where you do not lose weight or where you gain weight.
Atkins is a high fat diet.
Good. Then count the carbs of that lobster. According to the USDA Nutrient Database, lobster has about 2 carb grams per 100 grams. There are other foods that we typically wouldn't think of as having carbs but do, for example, eggs, cheese and cream.
So be sure you count all of these things.
And again, please plug your menu into fitday.com. It's a free service. You'll be able to see what is happening with you.
As others have said, you do not qualify for the Fat Fast because you have demonstrated that you can lose weight. Right now you are in a plateau/stall and your menu most likely needs to be adjusted.

It actually does take all that food to satisfy my hunger believe it or not. I work out and I have a huge appetite. I generally will sit at my desk and take about a good 40 minutes to eat all that between working, phone calls etc. If I don't eat all that protien, then I become extremely hungry by mid afternoon. Some days, I make all that for lunch, eat half at lunch and the rest in another couple of hours to try and keep my hunger pangs at bay. This is probably the biggest challenge I have run into since starting Atkins, is that since I started working out, I can not seem to control my hunger.

It is real, no additives.
