    Hi all
I wasn't suppose to weigh myself until tomorrow, but I couldn't stand it anymore. This is the first time I waited 6 days to weigh myself though. I was weighing myself daily but that got to be to hard on me with all the ups and downs. I started Atkins on February first, and as of today I've lost 14 pounds (in 27 days). I feel like I should be happy, but I feel depressed about it. Should I have lost more my first month? Esp. with my weight. I haven't measured myself because I haven't had anything to measure with, but I will, so I have probably lost inches too...SOMEWHERE. I know that when I did Weight Watchers it took me 12 weeks to lose 16 pounds (that was frustrating). I don't know. I feel like I am one big emtional rollercoaster and I hate it Why can't I just be happy that I lost? I want to be. I feel great. My sugar levels have never been better. I don't know why I do this to myself. Does anyone else do this to themself? Cause I feel crazy Soooo is 14 pounds good for my first month, or should I be losing more? Thank you everyone for always being so kind and helpful

    My dear Oh.2.b.fit....

AWESOME JOB!!!!! 14 pounds!!! Do you realize how much 14 pounds is. Thats like 3 5 pounds bags of Flour, or Sugar.....what a great thing! You should be proud of yourself, you did weight watchers and it took you 12 weeks to loose 16 pounds....now in only 4 short weeks of Atkins, you've lost 14 !!!! Excellent! Stick with it hon, keep coming here and reading the posts, and making your own posts, this is fantastic self motivational tool. I am very proud of you. Some people do not loose as fast as other people, it could be your body testing you. We've all been rough on our bodies, and it's like your body is saying....wow, all the good food you've given me, hmm but are you going to stick with it? Maybe our bodies don't trust us that well sometimes, who can blame them.

Anyway, I think you have done a fantastic job. Keep up the good work and I really do wish you success. Stick with us hon, you'll be fine!

I'm going to echo scooter here, but THAT'S GREAT!

I'd be thrilled to have lost 14 lbs in 27 days! That's 3.5lbs per week -- a very high rate of weight loss.

14 pounds is great, and you should be SO PROUD OF YOURSELF! Not satisfied with your results? Give up the coffee. I am guessing that by doing this, you can clean your body out and rid yourself of the evil coffee and caffiene monster. I know you said it helps control your appetite, but why not give it up for a while and see how you do without it?

I would also move to OWL, as this jumpstarts weight loss in LOTS of people!

            Re: Wondering

I lost 14 lbs in my first month as well. As you can see, here I am, sticking with it...and have lost 77 lbs and gone from size22 to 12. You didn't put it all on in 28 days and you are not going to lose it in 28 days either. In my 5th week I moved into OWL rung 1 and added more veggies and my losses were pretty steady all through OWL until I got within 10 lbs of my goal and its been a snails pace...but I'm Sticking With it.

Congratulations and keep up the good work.

              Re: Wondering

I'm echoing everyone here to say that 14 pounds in a month is awesome! And Julie may be on to something... the coffee may not stimulate your appetite, but I wonder if it may be contributing to your 'emotional rollercoaster'??? Too much caffeine can really put me on a high and then after the high come the low... just some food for thought.

              Keep up the good work!

Yeah, I think that's the big thing I noticed about the caffiene--once I gave it up, my mood wasn't dependent on it! I felt much more positive without it.

So you've done a great job! Focus on positives. That's 14 pounds you WILL NEVER SEE AGAIN. Here's to ANOTHER 14 pounds...you can do it!

                      Re: Wondering

Sorry, I'm a bit late with my reply, but REALLY need to set you straight!! GIRL - 14 pounds!!!!!! You are doing great. I'm also like you - I will never loose enough to feel great about my weight loss - or rather I used to be like that. Remember you HAVE to start somewhere - DO NOT feel depressed about even losing 1 pound - eventually they all add up and you reach your goals.

Since I started appreciating every since pound I loose , my mind has just been free - I just focus on exercising and following the Atkins lifestyle 100% sothat by my next weigh in date I can truelly say that whatever the scale says - I have giving it 100% and could not do any better. This also helps to keep me from cheating, for I will know if I did not loose that I did NOT give it my all.

Anyway, be proud of yourself - and remember - it all adds up!!!
Believing in yourself is not a vanity, it's a necessity!
God wants to take care of your problems for you.

                          Re: Wondering

I have adopted a "mindset" to get my through the moments there expectation and reality MEET! It's very similar to Super 30's. I do all I can, and focus on my part, and then I know when I do see the scale, I've already done my best efforts and I just need to accept things...
We always want more than we get...the trick is when disappointment arises is to HANDLE that WELL, so we don't trip out and off this way of life. There is no other diet like Atkins for me. Nothing feels AS GOOD or is AS EASY to manage for me.
This is my best option! To get frustrated and quit it, will leave me in a very disappointing place, because I will regain alot of weight!
SOOOO PROTECTING MY ATTITUDE IS KEY TO MY SUCCESS! I've made it through alot of ups and downs with my feelings and attitude, just starting my 8th month.
