Re: Urine question? Sorry...don't mean to be gross!

hahaha, I'm sorry but now I am picturing people playing in the toilet with little fat globs and can't stop chuckling. I knew I was in ketosis because my energy came back up after being lethargic for the first few days of induction. Also, my appetite was under control. After the initial induction I wouldn't care if I'm in ketosis or not since the weight is still coming off and I haven't cheated. You burn ketones so if you exercise enough there may not be enough left over for your pee anyway. That said, I drink too much water and take too many vitamins to notice anything beyond diluted vitamin pee in my toilet.

So can the stix differentiate between burned body fat and burned dietary fat?
Nah, we burn more fat when we eat more fat. So if you eat more fat and you body burned more fat and makes more ketones you'll pee more out. It's like priming the pump and one way a lot of people treat stalls.

This confuses me...my first time around I was working out hardcore (and loved it)...and the harder I worked out...the DARKER the sticks would get for me. Now I'm confused. I thought Atkins explained that keytones were a by-product AFTER fat had been burned for energy. With THIS theory, it made sense that the harder I worked out, the darker the sticks would get.

          Started: 3/2/09

          ~280~270~260~250~240~230~220~210~200~190

          Realistic Final Goal: 190
          Stretch Goal: 140

Successfully did Atkins in 1998 using 1992 copy of the book...before it was "hip". Lost 60lbs, exercised daily, felt and looked great. And then I moved in with a junk-food loving man, my mom got sick and passed away, then I suffered a spinal cord injury, and junk-food dude left me...and now I weigh 292lbs. That's 22lbs MORE than I weighed the first time around. It's 10 years later...I know this will work for me again.
