  • Not Keeping any Snack Food in House?

I've found it is much easier to stick to losing weight by not keeping any "pre-made" snack foods accessible that require no preparation, such as nuts, slices of cheese, pork rinds, etc..

usually when i have these around, i find it easy to overdo it sometimes, as they are so accessible. yet if i actually have to prepare "food/snacks", it kind of makes me rationalize.. is it worth it to get up and make something to eat?

am i the only one that has this rationale to prevent from overindulging myself?

I only keep snacks that I know I can control. For instance, this means I do not allow cashews, peanut butter cookies (they're LC and deadly...soooo addictive), or any peanut butter that is not natural/unsweetened to come into my sight.

The thing that keeps me accountable is that I track everything in fitday, and my journal is public. If I'm hungry I will eat, and I don't overdo it. But if I can't rationalize or explain why I ate 8 ounces of nuts, then I won't eat them!

If it works for you, then good! As you know, it can be easy to over-indulge in 'legal' foods (and subsequently not lose weight or gain weight).

You recognized your problem and found a way to deal with it. So good for you!
