  • So does excercise lower the amount of time before you re-enter ketosis?

Since theoretically you use your stored glucose, couldn't you significantly lower the time it takes to get into ketosis?

Yes... but you still should not be jumping in and out of ketosis for fun and games since it's harder on your body to give it up like that...

Yeah, I know. It's just really hard because I'm in college, and sometimes the dining hall won't have anything to eat so I will give in and eat something high in carbs. So if you burn your stored glucose after working out will you be in ketosis?

        Not necessarily...

If you go through a clean induction, and then move up the rungs, there should be things that are legal in the dining hall in not such a long time. There have been folks who have done (and succeeded in doing) Atkins while at college and facing the same issues as you.

Exercising would make your CCLL higher, which would technically make it easier for you to go back into ketosis (for example, I workout a lot, so when I went apey and had 4 LIITs, and some sugar, it didn't take me that long to get back into ketosis - a couple days - and I usually workout 2-3 hours a day). Now, the issue being that if it takes 2-3 days each time to get back into it, is it really something you're going to stick with to see the fluctuations that much, nevermind the fact that you are, at that point, not doing Atkins anymore, your body will not want to go back into ketosis as easily if you make it a common thing, you will never kick the cravings, and habits, or make it a WoL that you will stick with forever (which basically means you'll probably put the weight back on and become yo-yo).

Just because there's not something low in carbs, doesn't mean you should eat something high in carbs... there are a ton of foods in the middle, or on the low-end, and keep in mind that you *can* always mutilate food to make it acceptable (I did this in college a lot).

Depends how much glycogen is in your body - your muscles and liver can easily store up to 18-20 miles of runnings worth of glycogen. That's a lot of working out.
