  • There is a God after all :)

Well finally after moaning and groaning on this forum about not losing any weight no matter how hard i tried, i have finally lost two kilos is 7 days....fabulous. Previously it took me four weeks to lose a kilo and i had only been doing the diet for 2 months so it was really slow.
I finally worked out what the problem was. I have been taking a medication for the last two years called celebrak for my lower back pain. It suddenly dawned on me one afternoon when i felt like giving up completely, that i wasnt on celebrax the last time i did atkins and i was loosing regularly then. So i read up on celebrax and indeed it was a duretic and definetly the ones mr atkins says to get rid off if you arent losing weight. It takes about five days to get out of your system and i have been off it for about 7 days and lost two kilos since then.I have replaced it with a natural tablet for inflamation of joints etc and so far its been great...i was so worried the pain would come back, but it hasnt and i am losing....so happy...there is a god!!lol
Today i was busy doing something and looked down at my hand for a moment and saw a bone showing through my skin on the back of my hand, that i hadnt seen before...a bone!!it was way cool, i dont often see bones on this body..lol...this losing weight is so exciting, its like rediscovering myself.

Congratulations on discovering what was holding your weightloss up and acting on it

Bones are great to see emerging - just wait to see what your collarbones look like. I still feel them sometimes in awe!!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

        That's great! Way to go!

Losing the weight could also have a great effect on your back, so hopefully that pain will never return!

Thanks higgies, thats what i am hoping for. The doctor told me losing some weight will help.Apparently I have had a fall when i was a child(cant remember) and its left some scaring or something and its rubbing on the nerve endings..regardless I am so pleased i dont need those tablets...In australia there is a bit of controversy about them anyway as they are connected to heart attacks if you take them, even though i was on a low dosage it always gave me the creeps.

Congrats on the bone!!! I am SOOOO excited for you! It's like discovering your own body, all over again, isn't it? Elizellen is right about the collarbones - there was a lot of wind today, and I could actually feel the wind on my collarbone - what a weird feeling! I'm also beginning to see a dimple where a hip bone will eventually be!! yay!! I was on the Celebrex, also. It was great for the joint pain, but - you're right - it was hard when I was trying to lose weight before. You are making great progress!!! You are GOING to do this!!

The thing I really identified with was the part where you said "this losing weight is really exciting" I could not agree more. I have honestly gone to bed early before excited to see what the scales said in the morning! I absolutely enjoy this way of eating and the effect it is having on me.

It is exciting isnt it coach.I to have gone to bed early just to see how the weight is doing in the morning, also stopped me wanting to eat before going to bed..lol...When you have lost weight it just puts you in such a good mood for the day and days to come..i am silly though because I have had such trouble losing weight, when i do go down i get nervous that it was a mistake and so the next day i go back on just to check and then i am thrilled..lol..
You have lost a lot and i bet you are seeing some major changes!!!Well done.

I know what you mean about eve-of-weighing excitement! Even now I get really excited and anxious about my weekly weigh-in...in the beginning, I lost sleep over it, I was so excited!

Congrats on getting to the root of your troubles! Losing weight *is* exciting!
