    Hi there, I am wondering if you have used the Atkins advantage bars like the chocolate chip granola for example. The box says 19g of carbs but only 1 g of sugar. Am I missing part of the picture? It also says 1g fiber and 2.5g sugar alcohol. Seems like that is still a lot of net carbs, no? I am confused...

    Hmmm, I'm not sure. For me they stalled my weight loss

      Please don't use them. You can do so much better with real food.

        I'd stay away from the bars until you're nearer your goal. They really do stall so many people.
        Bear in mind that although Atkins Nutritionals say they're ok for induction, the truth is that many of the ingredients are not induction friendly at all. Dr A's advice was to use them in emergencies only.
        Atkins Nutritionals are more focused on their profits than your health.

          Just to add a thought about the Atkins (and other lowcarb) bars . . . .

          Treat them the same as you would any other processed food.

          So check the list of ingredients to help you decide for yourself which phase of Atkins they are 'legal' for.

          If all the ingredients are listed on the list of allowed foods for induction then the bars themselves are allowed for induction.

          If however (as I believe applies to ALL lowcarb bars) some of the ingredients are not allowed till you reach one of the levels/rungs of Ongoing Weight Loss (OWL) then you should wait till you are at that rung.

          So if it contains nuts but all other ingredients are 'induction-legal' then you could use them as a meal replacement on the nuts/seeds rung, but if it contains wheat or rice it would have to wait till you reach the grains (last) rung of OWL.
