This has always been an issue with me. I have no butt to speak of, but my stomach is totally huge. I'm also tall for my age (5'7"). Ok, I've been this tall since I was 12 (32 years ago), but at the time, I WAS tall for my age.
So I have about 50 or so pairs of jeans of various sizes and conditions that I've collected over the past 15 years or so. Some are pretty much worn out and others (the smaller ones) seem to have no wear whatsoever. Today seemed like a pretty good day to drag them all out and try them all on. I must say I'm a little bit happy, a little bit disappointed. While I could actually fit into clothes that have eluded me for the past several years, more likely than not they would go into the "maybe someday" pile. I came up with 12 out of about 50 that I could fit into and still breathe. That's an amazing number considering at the beginning of this year I could wear exactly three. But there are still those 30 something pairs that are still sitting in my "someday" pile. I think I'll get there. I want to someday wear a two piece bathing suit. Maybe at my age that's a bit of a stretch, but just once more I'd like to look like maybe I'm not the fat old lady I feel like I've turned into.
I've been reading everyone's success stories and it really gives me something to look forward to. Like I haven't been this small in years, but yet I'm still bigger than I was at 32. I think that's the age I really aspire to looking like. 32 was a great year for me. I was skinny, happy, and I met my BF that year. 12 years later I feel old and fat, but that's gonna change. I at least can fit into 12 out of 50. Maybe next month it will be 14 out of 50. Wouldn't that be a treat.
Thanks everyone who posts success stories, as well as those who post their struggles. I can relate to both.

PS. I have two pair of jeans in my "almost" pile. I'm hoping to be able to button them AND zip them by the middle of April (I buttoned them today, but the zipper was just too stubborn).
