  • Messed Up!

    Okay! I am PMS no excuse but I haven't had much sleep working overnights in psych. I was doing very well for about 8 days and then...last Thursday I ate half of a steak and cheese sub. I then got back on, I didn't let that get to me but today I really did myself in. I had a cheeseburger and fries. First of all, I don't even usually eat this. I know when my body is tired it craves this type of food. I feel so discourage. I have been working out 5 days a week but I feel horrible.!
    Help!

    I know how you feel. Late nights and working late has signalled the death knell of many of my attempts at Atkins.

    "Convenience food" such as subs and burgers, can be eaten without the bread but try to check into their nutritional information for the meat too just in case they try to sneak ingredients on us. This board has a bunch of links for that here's a forum with links to restaraunt chains

    In fact, that entire forum group ....

    Low-carb food and recipe forums for Atkins-friendly meals, snacks, drinks, desserts, menus, cooking basics, and recipe requests.



    Might help in terms of pre-packing Atkins friendly foods.

    Further, I also remember that lack of sleep can impact blood glucose levels, but I'd google that up if I were you because I'm not qualified to tell you YES or NO on those.

    Lastly, just remember there's no shame in falling down and getting right back up. I don't think anyone here expects us to be perfect and do it perfectly, if we indulge in something that isn't on the plan out of convenience .....

    So what. Yesterday's history, tomorrow's a mystery, try staying in the now.

    If we think this WOL will work for us, keep committing to it DOUBLY everytime we fall. We'll get it right eventually.

      When the cheeseburger monster calls get one but dont eat the bun. Put extra good stuff on it like extra cheese, bacon, avocado, mayo...make it good and satisfying. You wont miss the bun. Fries are evil and you just have to forgo those hard as it may be.
