    hey!
i came across your journals and noticed you were discussing recipes and how hard it is to deal with them on the computer. i am working on a little project here with my low carb recipes that i did with all my other recipes that really works well and thought i would share it with you.

i took a 1 or 1.5 inch notebook, a pile of white copy paper and all my recipes. i pasted the recipes to the white paper and slid those pages into plastic "sleeves". you can get these anywhere...target, wal-mart etc. i put the pages in front to back so the pages are two sided...you can get fancy and put dividers in for better organization. it works great for me since so many of my recipes are off the internet and do not fit in any recipe box...i just cut and paste, turn them any way i want them to go and add them to the notebook. i also like it because i can put a recipe in there that has a picture.....

the best part is this,,,,the front of my low carb cookbook has a few pages that outline the rules of induction, atkins pointers etc....i love it!

all you chefs out there probably already have something that works already but i am not a big cook and i was really excited to organize all the new recipes i found today in a way that is really manageable and easy to use for me!!!

hey....you might even find me in the kitchen now!!! bon apetit!

Now that I am working crazy hours my kids are trying to take over the kitchen for me. This is a great idea for them

you don't really even need to glue the recipes to the paper. if you slide the white paper into the sleeve and then slide the recipes down into the sleeve and place it where you want it, it will just stay there.....usually!

i first did this with all my mom's old recipes. since she died i did not have the heart to part with her hand written notes on the recipes she wrote out for me so i used this method to "display" them in a sense for us.....now every time i open my "regular" cookbook, i always see mama's notes! it makes me happy.

Nice idea! I've always printed off recipes from the internet and put them into those plastic folders... but I never thought of pasting recipes to paper and doing the same. Cool!
