  • Saw my Dr. tonight...

I went to the Dr. tonight to talk to them about what I'm doing. To let them know I took myself off all my meds February 1st, and I wanted to have blood work done, and see what they thought. It went GREAT!!! I saw a new Dr. who was sooo supportive. I feel so blessed to have been able to see him tonight. He really cared, and gave me hope. He said he was going to keep me off the meds because my sugar levels have been so good. He is doing blood work, then in a month he is doing it again. He is having me check my sugar at certain times and days, and then I have to bring that info in to him when I come back. I left feeling WONDERFUL!!! Finally, someone, a Dr. sat and talked to me for 40 minutes, and we made a plan together on fighting this...obeseity and diabetes. And he was so supportive of me doing Atkins. He said it was the best thing I could be doing for myself, and it is the best "WOE" (Way of eating) for diabetes. I'm full of hope tonight. I feel better "physically" than I have felt in a very long time I loved that all he had was wonderful things to say about Atkins. Now if anyone says how unhealthy it is, I'll have them go see my NEW Dr.
If I wasn't on it when I saw him, he would have sold me on it!!! It was great, and it gave me a lot of hope. Esp. with my diabetes. On meds my sugar levels were still crazy outta control. Now, in 50 short days, they are better than they have EVER been, and they just keep getting better. PLUS I'm losing weight and getting healthy. Those first two weeks (I had induction flu BAD), and I didn't think I could do this, but I am so thankful I stuck with it, and I feel better than I have in years. All the support I get here helps me too
I am very thankful, and so hopeful tonight. No more diabetes meds, and I'm in the 200's!!! YAY!!! His scale said 298, but mine said 299 this morning, and I'm going to go by mine.
I hope everyone has a peacefilled night, and thanks for listening to my ramblings
    ^_^V

That's awesome! It's so nice to see doctors being supportive like that. Atkins keeps my BG under control without insulin too. Even if I didn't lose another pound, that's enough reason for me to stick with it!

Nicole, that's wonderful news. I'm sooooo glad your doctor is supportive. Both my doctor's are supportive (my general practitioner and my female doc) and it really helps. I couldn't imagine the struggles some people have with their doctors over their WOE.
