  • Personal Low Carb Chef?

I'm a very busy businessman and don't have time to cook and am debating on having a personal low carb chef assist me in creating meals for me and delivering them to me every other day.

Does anyone have a personal chef or know where to start to find one? I've been thinking about the yellow pages, craigs list, online?

What would be a reasonable amount to pay per week including their food expenses? $300-$500?

Geez, if you're paying $500 a week for someone to boil eggs for you, I'll take the job.

Just kidding. I'm not sure if there are many LC personal chefs out there...Craig's List probably has everything in the world, so maybe check there. In the phone book, is there a health counselor/nutritionist type category?

But honestly, it's so easy to do Atkins. It takes ONE night a week of preparations, and you've got food for the rest of the week.

Or toss ingredients into a slow cooker and flip the switch to "low"!

You can look up personal chefs in the yellow pages or contact a local culinary school and see if they can refer you to someone.

If you're going to have them deliver food and not cook in your home, I would also look under Catering. We had some friends give us a catered meals that were delivered to us. Our friends paid for the meals, and the caterer delivered them. I'm sure they would have catered the food we liked, if we had paid for them. They we certified and cooked in their inspected rented kitchen, and everything was paid by the meal, or amount per serving.

Added: And as for pricing, my husband and I spend quite a bit more on foods when we are sticking to the Atkins. It would depend on your ingredients, such as meat choices. And some dishes take me more time to make, for example when there is sauce. It takes me a much longer time to make Atkins gourmet meals. So I imagine the cost would vary per dish, or meal, due to steps, preperation, and cooking times.
