The kraft singles that are 1 gram carb per slice. Are those okay on extended induction? I wasn't sure if you were really supposed to stick to the hard cheeses or not.

Re: cheese question
By the way, when you extend your Induction phase longer than 14 Days, you are still following the Induction Rules and still eating off the Induction Acceptable Foods list. It's not a separate Phase. It's not a transition phase between your first 14 days of Induction and OWL Phase. It only means you are choosing to follow the Induction Rules and Foods List beyond 14 Days.

real cheese in the UK comes in a nutshell?Originally posted by RichtIts best to stick with real "unprocessed" cheese. (In a nutshell).
Sorry Rich, I couldn't resist
Just another tip, really watch your cheese intake, I think it's one of the things that causes a stall with me I tend to overeat it. Always a good idea to weigh it until you get used to the portion sizes. I have the same problem with nuts. I always think an ounce is far more than it really is.Jen, 39, F

Gruyere is a gorgous cheese. It reminds me of the cheese and onion flans my mum used to make when I was a kid.sigpic260/215/180 Male - 36 y/o

Re: cheese question
I'd have to say it depends on what KIND of Kraft singles, technically - I don't really know what the different carb counts per slice are, but if they are imitation cheese, vegetarian or 'prcessed cheese product' , they might be illegal.Originally posted by eschli35The kraft singles that are 1 gram carb per slice. You're probably OK with 1g/slice, no more than 4 oz/day, unless they cause you stall or craving.~Susan

Re: cheese question
For the most part if its made from Kraft its not going to be real cheese. It kind of creeps me out to think what kind of concoction has to be made in order to get a 'cheese product'. Cheese comes from milk. Look on the ingredients list and if milk is there its way down towards the end, after all the stuff you cant pronounce.

Re: cheese question
I think "cheese product" means that when they make real cheese, they use the whey to make the "cheese product" instead of discarding it as they used to. (They now stuff it into all sorts of things to add protein, I think.)~Susan

Re: cheese question
Maybe that wasn't what I meant then. Cheese Product or Cheese Food just lets me know it really isnt cheese. It may be made by cheese-by products, but in no way is it the real deal. They make that stuff to have a very long shelf life, and in Velveeta's case, a shelf life without refrigeration. Its kinda like eating plastic.
