I love the sugar-free vanilla latte, but not sure about the milk content. Anyone have any ideas?

    Re: starbucks

I love the chai tea latte's myself...I had one easter sunday, and my weight went up 2 lbs though the next day...I checked starbucks website, and it had 50 carbs!!!!! YIKES!!! Definately not induction friendly...I'm kicking myself now...

If you go to starbucks.com, it shows the nutritional value for darn near everything there..thats where I found out about my carb-induced-weight gainer-in a grande cup!!

Yeah, starbucks is good in that they at least tell you that they have a bazillion carbs in things.

I think the sugar-free vanilla latte is safer than the chai tea actually, since I believe the chai mix has sugar in it. You can do a breve (made with half and half), sugar-free vanilla latte to bring down the carbs a bit as well.

Have it made with half and half - 10 carbs at most I think in a medium.

Once again Slooknoo (Half and half - no go) Sorry bro.

You can tell them at Starbucks to make your drink with heavy cream. Most of them have it. I don't do Starbucks that often (emergency only) but I've read the container they use and it is Heavy Cream. I make sure they don't go over board either.

I imagine the Chai thing might be okay of made with the heavy cream.

Like I said though, actually ask to see the container. I've caught them twice on that one. It was like, oh yeah here it is. Dude....this says....milk.
Oh yeah hold on....... Nice try. Soy Milk. H.E.A.V.Y. Cream.....

Amazing. These are the people who try to slip you a sugar mickey. haha.

I do agree with SlooKnoo on one point, make your own, you know what goes in it!!

At Starbucks, Breve is half and half.

Also, Starbucks uses Oregon Chai. Here's the ingredients:

Water, organic evaporated cane juice, honey, organic spices, organic, black tea, ginger, organic vanilla, organic natural flavors and citric acid.

19 carbs per 1/2 cup serving.

Actually, the Chai is a pre-mixed chai tea base that is sweetened....so that's a no go!

As for the lattes, etc... I pour heavy cream into a snack baggie or a small tupperware cup from home and freeze it. Most of the time, I mix in a few drops of real vanilla flavoring. In the a.m., I take a baggie with me and get my coffee from Starbucks or whereever. By then, the cream has defrosted slightly or completely. That way, I know exactly what is in my coffee. I add my equal and I'm good to go!
