Im so annoyed and frankly quite hurt. I've only recently recieved my copy of the Dr Atkins Revolution book, whilst promising myself that I will only properly start once my book had arrived. Well anyways, my mum knows how much of an issue I have with my weight. Its like now she wont help me, as she feels the foods that I will be needing are too expensive :@ I really dont wanna have to give up the idea of going on the atkins diet, it just now seems like a pipe-idea, as if it will never happen.
Would it be possible to just follow a specific diet plan, as opposed to the variety of menus given in the induction. The sample diet on page 133, could I just follow that for 2 weeks and still lose weight?
I'd really appreciate anyones response on the direction I should be taking on this? thanks in advance.

I know when living with my parents and wanting to go on a diet plan the real issue for my mother would have been the extra cooking! Cereal and milk requires no effort while cooking low carb(in my opnion!) requires more time in the kitchen. If you are not able to cook basic things perhaps ask your mother for some lessons. Be responsible for your own "diet foods". Buy in season veggies, canned veggies while not the best are a lot of times very cheap. Be patient with your mom. A lot of people assume that Atkins means a dozen eggs per day, half a pound of bacon, three huge cheese burgers, and a pound of steak every night for dinner! That would sound expensive to me too. It can be done in a much more economical way. Sure I spend more on meats, cheese, cream, and butter but I spend LESS on packaged anf processed junk. I also do not buy cola anymore. The budget has remained more or less the same.
