  • I have a confession to make.....

    I cheated!!

over the easter period, i let my cravings get the better of me. It was on Tuesday, I ate hot cross buns, bread and chocolate! and on wednesday i went straight back on atkins and have stuck to it since.

But i have been feeling really sick and have no appetite since, im hoping this is down to toxins leaving my body, i really dont look forward to eating at the moment and have been having cravings for something plain like bread. Im ignoring them by drinking loads of water. I tested for ketones this afternoon and had a pale pink ketostix, so i know im back in fat burning mode, but why do i feel so ill??

Also should i go back and do induction or just carry on where i left off?

I was on the nuts and seeds rung..

I'd do induction if I were you. Completely clean your body of the toxins, cravings, etc. and start fresh. JMHO.

Whenever I feel bad I run back to induction or maybe the veggie rung. I know the meals I ate there were good for my system.

edit to add: I'm at Nuts & Seeds too.

Good for getting back on track and not letting it snowball into weeks or months. At least you're back in ketosis!

        DANDR, 2002:

If you retreat to Induction every time you stray, you may begin to reinforce a dangerous pattern of behavior....For a minor infraction or even a day of cheating, there is no need to go back to Induction. Simply drop down 5 or 10 grams for a couple of days, or go back to the previous phase. It is important that you learn how to eat properly as a way of life.
