I am new to this forum and new to Atkins (one week tomorrow) I am thrilled already that pounds are coming off already but I have two questions. I had read else where that the bulk of the weight that comes off in induction is water weight. is this true? Also, IF I were to cheat do I have to start the two week induction all over or just start fresh the next day? (I haven't yet but there are times when its hard to convince myself that a hb egg or a cheese stick will do when what I want to do is hit the kids easter baskets!!!) thanks

Re: newbee - 2 questions
Yes a lot of the weight is water. But some of it is fat and after that it is all fat. Dont take this the wrong way, but your setting yourself up to fail when you think about pre-cheating. You do not have to go back to induction, but you do have to get yourself back into ketosis. The real problem with cheating is once you start it is very hard to stop.
You will find if you do a 'clean' induction that your craving for sweets should go away, or at least become something you can deal with. Also there are many, many, many other foods you can reach for besides eggs and cheese. Keep your house full of induction friendly foods to be ready when the urge strikes. Get yourself some Stevia or Splenda or sugar free syrups to use when the cravings for something sweet have to be met. Also come to this board and get support from others if the urge to cheat strikes you. Good luck!
