i was thinking a lot today about this new lifestyle of mine. since i joined the board i have learned so much. i have met some really cool people. this is a community of friends who have a common goal....GOOD HEALTH!
it is often so easy for me and maybe many of you to turn the focus to the END of the journey when in fact, we need to celebrate the SMALL VICTORIES that we achieve on a daily basis.
just today....it was my girls' day with my daughter. i woke up early and debated whether to exercise in the morning or tonight after a day of shopping. i chose to do it this morning...SMALL VICTORY#1.
after a hot shower, while getting dressed, i decided to play with my wild hair and "flatten it" as my 11 year old has been nagging me to do. then i got a pair of pants out of the closet that i have not been able to wear yet. a low rise pair of khaki cargo things and also wore a long, stretchy, long sleeved t shirt thing with it.....SMALL VICTORY #2!
my 11 year old fashion maven came in with a shocked look on her face and said " MOM YOU LOOK HOT!"....SMALL VICTORY #3!!
at dinner tonight i ordered a GREAt cobb salad. the server brought it with a plate that had 2 HUGE hot rolls and butter on it...now bread is KILLER with me. i sweetly asked her to take it back to the kitchen, i would not be needing it....SMALL VICTORY #4!!!
so i ask YOU to think of these things yourself:
1. did you wake up with a positive attitude this morning?
2. Did you drink your water
3. did you make the time which is often hard to find to exercise
4. were you able to do SOMETHING today that you have not been able to do for a long time?
5. did you say NO to something that was unhealthy?
6. did you say YES to something that was GOOD for you?
7. did you surprise yourself with an accomplishment that you thought was not attainable?
8. did you share your knowledge with someone else?
9. did you acknowledge your OWN value?
10. finally....did you smile and KNOW that what you are doing is so good for you and will increase significantly the life you were born to live....making you strong and healthy for you and THOSE YOU LOVE?
if you did ANY of these things,,,,then YOU TOO HAD A SMALL VICTORY! let's celebrate all these small victories and those you may have for your own self as we travel the road to our goal of good health....we all want to reach our own personal magic numbers of inches and pounds....but the successes and victories we attain along the way make for a really sweet trip.
yours in good health,
betsy
