  • V-8 Juice

    Does anyone out there drink V-8, I know the big cans 12 oz. probably have too many carbs, but how about the small (I'm guessing 4-5 ounces) little cans. How many carbs minus fiber are in one of those.

    According to the ingredients label, they have carrot and beet juice in them and so you should wait till the Starchy Veggie Rung for that. You could drink plain tomato juice right now, but since it has less fiber than a tomato, make sure you drink it with a fat so that it doesn't impact your blood sugar.

      Hello,

      I'm probably going to get launched for this, but I have been drinking the low-sodium V8 since day one of induction. The small 5.5 fl oz. cans have 7 carbs, minus one for fiber. I simply cannot stomach solid food in the morning, that's just me.
      I keep the small cans on hand at work, in case I need a mid-morning pick me up.
      I guess I'm saying this is what "I" do, since you asked, and I'm certainly not recommending this for anyone else as it is a carby drink. The way I see it, it's a vegetable and I don't think a freaking carrot every killed anyone's diet and made them overweight.
      I also (gasp) occasionally eat acorn squash. I'm a bad girl.

        Thanks for the reply, I had already made up my mind on getting the small cans. As much as I love v-8 and could drink a big can every day, I'll stick with the small ones. I usually maintain between 20-25 carbs a day, so 6 more on v-8 juice every now and then or even every day, I don't think would make me gain weight.

        I'm no longer on a strick induction, but still would like to loose 15-20 pounds, right now i'm at 137 and I'm 5 feet 2, (I already lost 30 over the last few years. I've just recently gotten back to execising 3-4 times a week, so I really don't think 25-30 carbs per day will stop my weight loss. thanks again.
