  • Owl??

    Hi,

    I'm new to this Forum.
I'm just wondering should I start on OWL. I'm only on Day 12 of Induction and have reached my goal weight.
I started at 145 lbs, I'm now 134 lbs. I have dropped nearly 2 dress sizes.
    I'm a 5'11'' Female so I won't look well if I drop anymore weight.
I even ate a big bag of cashew nuts last night and still lost another pound.
What foods would you recommend me adding to stay at my current weight??

    Re: Owl??

Congrats on reaching your goal. Since you are already there you might want to follow the Maintenance Plan Dr. Atkins wrote about in Atkins for Life: That was the book he wrote for people who were near or at their ideal weight and just wanted to change to a low carb lifestyle.

We really can't tell you how much of something to eat or exactly what to eat, because we all have different a sensitivity to carb amounts and types of foods. However, look in Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution 2002 edition. There is a chart for the Criticial Carbohydrate Maintenance Levels. Since you lost very easily with only 20 net carbs per day, your metabolic resistance to weight loss is very low. So you'll have to look up the maintenance carbs for a low metabolic resistance on the chart in the book and take it from there. And be sure to read the OWL, Pre-Maintenance and Maintenance chapters in the book too---that will give you an idea of how to re-introduce carbs to your menu in a sane, organized manner.
