  • Question about Fitday

I have signed up for Fitday but I have given up on using it. It seems so time consuming everything I eat has a bunch of ingredients. So im wondering is there an easier way to enter what you eat or do you have to do each ingredient separate? I know a lot of you use it and rave about it...am I missing something?

I think the program would be helpful but I just don't have the patience!

I am new to this too, but I find that I can add custom foods based on bought foods and I'm sure you can add a whole recipe if you add them all together, that's got to be easier??

    Good luck x

      Re: Question about Fitday

Do it as a custom food if it's something you prepare the same way each time.

The easiest way to do it is to click forward to a new day with a blank food log. List all the ingredients (and correct amounts) for your food/meal, either by serving, or if you do it as a whole recipe, make sure you note the correct number of servings in the box. Take a look at the grams and calories for the food, and jot that down. Now make a new custom food, entering in the name, serving size, and the gram/caloric info that you have jotted down. It's really easy and saves lots of time!

It takes a bit of practice but when you get into it you'll find you speed up tremendously.

I agree once you have done a few custom recipes it gets easier.
BTW when I used fitday.com (I now have the pc version which allows me to add a whole recipe by just dragging the ingredients into a box) I also copied down the minerals and vitamins info too so my custom food had the right info

Thank you everyone! You all make it sound so easy! LOL I will give it another shot.
I would LOVE to have the program to drag and drop the recipe that would be so helpful!!

Also, once you use it for awhile you can choose things from the Recent Foods list withough having to type everything in. I find that I eat alot of the same things from day to day and using the recent foods drop down list makes it go faster.

The pc version is usually advertised on the online site. I find the pc version good...but again, it takes a little getting used to. I have hundreds of my "usual foods" on a Favs list and just have to click on them to add to the daily food list. I think buying it was money very well spent, but there are some who don't like it much.
