  • a small victory!

I made it through my play off party (though the Sabres lost) without falling off the wagon! I may have eaten a few more veggies and blue cheese or chicken wing dip with celery but no chips, tortillas, popcorn etc despite it being all over my house! My DH however, did cheat. Which brings me to my question (our debate at the end of the night) once you cheat for the day does it matter whether its a few tortilla chips or all kinds of snacks and popcorn and hamburgers WITH buns etc. Once you've introduced carbs back to your body for the day does it matter how much? Or is the damage done? How long to get back to ketosis? a couple days? just wondering...

It is important to make the very next BITE Atkins legal to stop your body sliding down that slippery slope started by the 'now I've blown it I'll just have one more . . . . .' attitude.
So many of our members have had to post in the 'second time around club' forum after deciding to make a day of off-plan eating after one errant food choice, and not managed to get back to Atkins for several weeks, months or even years!!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Congrats on doing such a great job avoiding the high carb'd foods! Woo hoo!

I speak from reading and personal experience (so I'm pretty sure) about getting rid of the high carb'd foods quickly introduced into your body is that it takes time for you body to "burn" or "use" them up. So, tell your hubby hop back on track, keep plowing ahead, and enjoy some extra exercise and water over the next couple of days to help speed the process
