  • I'm so sick! Any suggestions for comfort food?

I can hardly taste anything at all, and I have a terrible upset stomach. I usually eat chicken noodle soup or a couple peices of toast when I get sick. Anyone have a suggestion for stuff I can eat right now that might calm my tummy?

I made my own chicken soup last week, and it tasted great! Just dont add noodles, and use legal veggies in it!

I used a can of chicken broth (read the label!) and water (spiced up with spices)and chopped up chicken, bell pepper, onion, cabbage, mushrooms. It made a large pot full, so leftovers galore!!

It tasted great! Conquered my soup craving.

          Custard!

I make mine by beating eggs and cream together, adding Splenda and nutmeg, and heating in the microwave until fluffed-up and ready.

Anything eggy makes me nauseas. Sorry, I know this isn't helping, but I've yet to find an Atkins friendly food that settles my stomach when I'm ill. Good old soda water seems to help me more than anything.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! I'm like you too Miss Phode, eggs are really making me queasy at this point. But I made my own chicken soup (didn't even think of that before, thanks swimming!) and it did a great job of settling my stomach. I also read the thread about "comfort foods" and found it very helpful and informative (thanks not2late). Hopefully I won't be sick too much longer. It's far too beautiful outside to feel this crappy. Anyways, thanks again everyone!

When only "bread" will do-- I had a yucky day yesterday and couldn't think of ANYTHING that wouldn't turn my stomach-- a flax muffin totally hit the spot!

Ginger tea with some Splenda will definitely help settle your stomach. That is, if you can stomach ginger.
